Midvale City Graffiti Abatement Program

(Volunteer Recruitment Announcement)

Concerned about the spread of graffiti vandalism in our neighborhoods and business districts? So are we, therefore, Midvale City is proud to announce the adoption of a Voluntary Graffiti Abatement Program. Through this program, residents work together to combat the growing problem of graffiti throughout our city.

Graffiti is not only detrimental to the health, safety, and welfare of the community but, encourages gang activity, lowers property values, decreases business opportunities and adversly affects the quality of life for every resident.

Applying the “ broken windows” theory to graffiti sends a message that the graffiti will not last and will be removed as soon as possible. Those responsible will be subject to arrest and prosecution.

Graffiti Abatement Team Members will be required to attend a training session during which they will receive information on types of graffiti, proper documentation, and removal techniques.

Team members will then respond to graffiti when notified by City staff or when they have observed graffiti in their neighborhood.

We are inviting everyone to join us in fighting graffiti vandalism in our community. If you are interested in either volunteering to paint over graffiti or donate supplies please contact,
