Midvale City will be reconstructing the northern part of Grant Street with work expected to commence in 3 separate phases. Each phase of work will take place at consecutively different points in time with work being performed by 3 different Contractors who have already been assigned to each phase. Further details regarding each phase of reconstruction are as follows:

Phase I – Tree Removal

June 5th through June 9th

During Phase I of reconstruction all trees that have already been marked with an orange “X” (marking is located near the base of the tree) will be removed. Trees will be stumped to a maximum of 12”

 below ground level and all debris will be removed after each tree has been cleared away.


Phase 2 – Water Main Replacement

June 26th through July 30th

The existing 4” water main will be replaced with a new 8” water main and all the fire hydrants will be upgraded to meet the current Fire standards. *There will be some temporary interruptions in water service however residents will be notified prior to those expected interruptions. *


Phase 3 – Install New Curb, Sidewalk, & Road Surface

Spring – Summer 2018

Crews will be removing and replacing sections of the existing curb, sidewalk and road surface. Residents should expect some temporary road closures. There will be NO on-street parking during the construction process. Vehicles parked on the street after notification will be towed at the owner’s expense.
